Women in Need Growing Strong

YWCA-WINGS (Women in Need Growing Strong) is a multi-purpose Domestic Violence program that provides services to victims of domestic violence with compassion, understanding, and cultural sensitivity. It is an integral part of the YWCA-WINGS mission to educate and empower women to be self-sufficient.

YWCA-WINGS was founded in 1978 as a 24-hour rape crisis hotline. The volume of domestic violence calls prompted its creators to alter its mission to include a full-service shelter for battered women. Since then, YWCA-WINGS helps approximately 1400 women annually through its residential and non-residential site.
