Breast lumps are one of top main health issues for women to this day. So it’s highly important for women to regularly check any bumps or hard spots on their breasts. If you discover something unusual, it’s best to get them checked and examine by your local GP. And don’t assume that lumps mean cancer, as there are other types of breast lumps that aren’t cancerous and can easily be removed.

Fibrocystic lumps – The fibrocystic lumps can be developed due to a hormonal changed in menstruation or menopause. They are very common in women between the ages of 35 to 50. The lumps can be spotted near the milk ducts, and treatments aren’t necessary for this type of disease.

Fibroadenomas – Fibroadenomas are most commonly found in women in their early 20s to 30s. They normally occur when the body has produced a significant amount of milk in the glands which lead to creating the lump. If you think you have them, you may need to go through a surgical procedure of removing them.

Intraductal papilloma – The lump has a similar image to a wart that occurs in the lining of the mammary duct. They are easily removed through surgery and can be found in women between the age of 45 to 50.

Breast Cysts – Cysts is a bag of fluid that are developed in women before menopause. They are usually small in size and may go away on their own. However, depending on their size, your doctor may recommend on reducing them by draining the fluid out.

Breast exam

To be safe from breast cancer, it’s essential that women should opt in for a breast exam. Doctors will be able to have a closer look and check if you have any lumps through scans and ultrasound tests. It’s better to be aware of them at an early stage to prevent any future health issues.
